In 2008, the Windy City Kayak Symposium brings you fun, quality courses, tours and workshops for all skill levels, from absolute beginner to advanced paddler.  At this symposium, we put extra effort into bringing some of the world's top paddlers and coaches to the beautiful shoreline of Lake Michigan to teach these courses, ensuring the highest quality experience during the weekend.  Please click on the event name below to go to a full event description.

On-Water Courses

Get started, develop new skills, or perfect advanced techniques and rescues this weekend as you work with sea kayaking's top coaches and paddlers. 

Kayak Tours

We think that Chicago has the world's most beautiful urban shoreline.  Lined with beaches, parks and museums, with magnificent skyscrapers in the background, paddling here is an amazing experience. The tours listed below range from a sheltered beginner oriented paddle down the "skyscraper canyon", to a paddle through the canyon, lochs and out into open water, to an open water adventure geared towards intermediate paddlers.  Come and see what the Windy City has to offer!!!

On-Land Workshops & Presentations

New to the symposium this year is an array of On Land Workshops.  We really feel like this workshops will "round out" your experience at the symposium, giving you oppurtunities to learn from the best on subjects including kayaking technique, boats and equipment, and paddling destinations worldwide.  These workshops and presentations can be enjoyed by paddlers of all experience levels.
