Gold Coast & S. Lakefront Tour

Join us on this full-day tour of Chicago's amazing coastline. We'll launch from Diversy Harbor, north of downtown, and paddled south along beaches with amazing views of the skyline.  As we move south, we'll pass several museums, Navy Pier, the Shedd Aquarium, Soldier Field, the Adler Planetarium and other historic landmarks.  This is the longest and most challenging of all of the Kayak Tours as potential landing beaches are spaced two to three miles apart.

One Crib Trip

Want to stretch your body and boat a bit and see the shoreline from a distance?   Provided we have good conditions, we’ll launch from the symposium beach and paddle off-shore to the southernmost crib (Chicago’s water intake stations) and back, possibly paddling to a different point on the shoreline and following the coast on our return.  This tour is an open water experience and the leaders will talk about group management, open water safety, navigation for crossings.

Skyscraper Canyon Tour

This tour will start at Clark Park with some on and off water paddling instruction and then we’ll launch out onto the river.  As we paddle down the river, your guides will talk about Chicago’s history and architecture, passing through the world’s only “Skyscraper Canyon”.  This tour is a full day adventure and participants should collect their lunches before departing 63rd Street Beach in the morning.

Skyscraper & Lakefront Tour

This tour launches from the heart of the “skyscraper canyon”, passing some of the city’s most historic and beautiful building before entering the locks and out onto Lake Michigan near Navy Pier!  We'll then paddle south with views of Soldier Field and the Shedd Aquarium, landing near another famous landmark, the Adler Planetarium.
